2025.6.9-12 IWGGMS-21参加報告
6月9日から12日に開催された第21回IWGGMS会議（International Workshop on Greenhouse Gas Measurement from Space）に参加しました。IWGGMSは温室効果気体（GHG）観測衛星に関わる研究者が一堂に会する国際会議で、日本、米国、欧州の持ち回りで開催しています。今年は日本がホストで高松市のかがわ国際会議場で開催されました（https://www.nies.go.jp/soc/en/events/iwggms21/）。
研究室からは齋藤とスタッフ2名（Belikov、Bag）、学生3名が参加し、4名が研究発表を行いました。気候変動研究およびGHG衛星観測ミッションの今後は不確定な部分も多いですが、会議ではGHG衛星観測データを利用した最新の研究成果について活発な議論が行われていました。参加したスタッフも学生も、GHG衛星観測ミッションから衛星データを利用したGHG収支解析まで、GHG研究の幅広いトピックを網羅した会議に大いに刺激を受けたようです。（N.S.）
The meeting was very well organized, striking a good balance between a focused working atmosphere and a friendly, collaborative environment. In-person attendance was especially valuable because it provided more opportunities for informal, in-depth discussions and spontaneous idea exchanges. It also provided a clearer sense of the overall direction and emerging trends in current developments. Overall, it was a truly engaging and productive experience. （D.B.)
During June 9-12, 2025 I attended the IWGGMS-21 workshop in Takamatsu and had productive discussions on greenhouse gas research and potential applications of SCALE. Several researchers expressed interest in using SCALE for global CO₂ studies and collaborating on comparisons with WRF simulations and ship-based measurements. Many attendees were unfamiliar with SCALE and requested the paper once published to explore future collaboration opportunities. (T.B.)
Attending IWGGMS-21 was an insightful experience, as it gave me the chance to discuss my research with scientists from around the world. Learning about their research journeys and sharing my own work provided a meaningful opportunity to broaden my scientific perspective and increase visibility for my research.（D2: U.C.）
初めての国際学会であるIWGGMS-21では、日本開催でありながら多くの海外の研究者が参加しており、休憩時間などでの活発な議論の様子に圧倒されました。ポスター発表の時間には、自身の研究を英語で発表しただけでなく、関連する研究発表を聴くことで研究分野の理解をより一層深めることができました。また、英語でのコミュニケーション力を高める貴重な経験にもなりました。(M2: Y.H.)
初めての国際学会で、英語でのポスター発表に挑戦しました。海外の研究者との議論には苦労もありましたが、粘り強く説明を行い、貴重な経験を得ることができました。また、海外の研究者による発表を聴講する中で、自身の研究テーマと強く関連する内容も多く、知見を深めるとともに、今後の研究の方向性を考える上で大変勉強になりました。(M2: T.Y.)
